"In a dream you saw a way to survive and you were full of joy." Jenny Holzer
Deciding to begin therapy takes courage. My professional work is based on the belief that we all have the capacity to get what we want out of our life and our relationships. We will explore present obstacles and past significant events, including thoughts, feelings, relationships, and behaviors, working to uncover what is often out of our awareness. This can help you to gain insight into patterns in your life that inhibit you from getting what you want. I will work closely with you to understand yourself and your life on a deep level. This process can feel daunting and unsettling, requiring perseverance and patience, but can lead to symptom relief and meaningful change. Understanding ourselves and how we exist in our environments can be a powerful tool for growth.
I work within a psychodynamic and contemporary psychoanalytic lens. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to growth and change. As your therapist, I create a space in which you are free to be yourself more fully. My role is to respect and draw out your unique strengths, and inner resources, while supporting you in reaching your fullest potential. I will provide you with experiences, skills, and practical techniques that will support you in getting the results you want from therapy. As a therapist, I am down-to-earth, compassionate, and empowering.
